INTRODUCTION TO MARXISM-LENINISMIntroductionLenin, the leader of the Russian Revolution of 1917 wrote in 1914 that: “Marxism is the system of Marx’s views and teachings. “The remarkable consistency and integrity of Marx’s views, whose totality constitutes modern materialism and modern scientific socialism, as the theory and program of the working-class movement, make it incumbent on us to briefly outline his world-conception in general, prior to giving an exposition of the principal content of Marxism, namely, Marx’s economic doctrine.” Lenin’s short, powerful and lucid exposition of Marxism provides a basis on which members and activists can be introduced to the general principles that underlie the work and orientation of communist parties. At present there are over a hundred million members of Communist Parties around the world.
